If you are looking for driving records in the District of Columbia, Washington, D.C. has put together a very complete website with a variety of information. To begin your search for driving records the official website is at http://dmv.washingtondc.gov/serv/dlicense.shtm. This will take you to the homepage of the site which offers numerous places to click on to get the information you need.

To the left of the main page you will find a blue column where you can click on any number of services from vehicles to driver’s services to general services to special services. In addition to those areas there are numerous places to click regarding drivers licensing starting with learner’s permit all the way through renewals to commercial licenses and suspended or revoked licenses.

In addition to driving records and licensing there is also extensive DMV information and records regarding vehicles, parking permits and more. There is also a place to click toward the bottom of the blue list to the left of the page which says “HOW DO I?” which has frequently asked questions and the answers to them.
Just below that section there is an online service request section that you can click on to take care of as much as possible online. If you click on “Home Page” at the top of the blue list on the left side of the page, you will be taken to more generalized information. The important information when you get to the Home Page is the Telephone Directory by Topic section at the very bottom of the page. This phone directory makes it easy to find what you need without having to guess what department it might be in.

This is a well developed and well presented website which should help you find anything you need regarding DMV records or Driving records. There are other independent companies that have pages on the internet that offer everything from free to “low cost” searches. It is a good idea to start at the official site, however, because their information is direct, comes directly from the official government source, and is the most accurate and up-to-date information available. Outside sites may promise this, but most of them fail to deliver, plus they charge – often hidden fees – plus the DMV fees in addition to their own fees.
